The Children's Home

Catonsville, MD

Established in 1863, The Children's Home is a residential care facility that provides long-term, short-term and emergency services to youths 8 to 21 years of age who have experienced trauma and/or are in need of supervised care.

ABA assessed all campus structures for building, life safety and ADA code compliance, and performed environmental assessments for the entire 40-acre site. Through focus groups comprised of residents, staff and administrators, ABA has detailed short-term curative strategies and a comprehensive redevelopment master plan that adds new services, reuses existing buildings, locates new buildings, redevelops pedestrian and vehicular traffic patterns, and provides site amenity enhancements.
